The stone carries dramatic white and gray-purple veining, a darker and more colored pattern than a plain white marble, and each piece has its own arrangement of veins, with moderate variation between tables. It measures 14 inches wide, 14 inches long and 24 inches high. The geometric form works as a nightstand, as a side table at the end of a sofa or as an accent piece in an entryway.

A simple form for a bold stone

The cube is deliberately plain. Flat faces and a square top give the veining room to run, and with a stone as strongly patterned as Calacatta Viola, no carving or added detail is needed. The polished finish gives a high shine that brings out the depth of the marble and the subtle shifts in color across each face. Each table is cut and finished by hand by craftsmen in Turkey who know how to work this marble, and the veining is natural, so tone and placement differ from piece to piece.

Gray-purple veining Dramatic colored veins on white, different on every cube.

Polished finish A high shine that deepens the color in the stone.

Bedside, sofa side or entry

At 24 inches high and 14 inches square, the cube fits beside a bed, next to a sofa arm or in a tight corner where a larger table will not go. The top holds a lamp, a glass or a stack of books, and it is large enough for a small tray of bedside things. Styled as a nightstand beside a modern bed, as a side table next to a cream linen sofa or as a single sculptural piece in an entryway, the cube holds its own without extra decoration.

Size 14" W × 14" L × 24" H, solid Calacatta Viola cube.

Origin Marble quarried and handmade in Turkey.

Placing the cube

Solid marble is heavy even in a compact cube, so two people should carry it and set it in place. Acidic drinks and cleaners can etch the polish, and spills left to sit can stain. Sealing helps the stone resist stains, and how often it is resealed depends on use. Over the years marble develops a soft patina that adds to its character, and because the cube is solid stone, wear can be professionally restored.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1019/4157/6048/files/calacatta-viola-marble-side-table-nightstand-square-top-cube-design-W14-L14-H22-roomscene.jpg?v=1783802637
https://stonetiledepot.com/products/calacatta-viola-marble-cube-end-table-nightstand-14x14x24-polished
