A waterjet square in grey marble
Desing Bm 104 is a honed marble waterjet mosaic from the Baroque collection, supplied on 12 1/16 inch square sheets that each cover a square foot. Waterjet cutting allows curves and interlocking shapes that a saw could not produce in stone.
Design
Curves cut by water
A waterjet stream cuts marble along paths that a blade cannot follow, which is what makes patterns of this kind possible. The stone is Athens Grey Light, honed to a matte surface so the pattern reads through shape rather than reflection. Variation between pieces is slight. Sheets are 3/8 inch thick, and gray marble mosaics in this stone also come at 4x7 1/2 and 8 1/2x8 1/2.

The technique allows curved and interlocking shapes in natural stone.

Where to use it
Rated almost everywhere indoors
The list of approvals runs long: backsplash, residential and commercial interior floors and walls, shower walls, shower floors and residential light floors. Kitchen, bathroom and living room all appear as rooms. Arithmetic is unusually kind, one sheet to a square foot and ten sheets in a box, which puts 60 square feet at seven boxes after the standard allowance for offcuts. Adhesive has to reach the whole of the mesh, because any gap left behind the stone will find the weakest piece and split it.

Care
Seal after installation and again every one to two years. Marble etches on contact with acid, so keep vinegar and citrus cleaners away and use a pH neutral stone product instead of bleach or ammonia.
