Sanded versus unsanded grout

Grout choice matters more than most people expect. Unsanded grout suits narrow joints, roughly 1/16 to 1/8 inch, and it's the safe pick for polished marble and glass that sanded grout could scratch. Sanded grout is for wider joints and floors, where the sand adds strength and resists cracking. Match the grout color to your tile for an even field, or contrast it to make the pattern stand out.

Sealers and enhancers

Every natural-stone surface, whether marble, travertine, limestone, or terracotta, should be sealed at install. A penetrating sealer soaks in and guards against stains without changing the look. A color enhancer deepens and enriches the stone's tone. Reseal now and then, especially in showers and around cooktops, and clean everything with pH-neutral products to avoid etching.
