What Taj Mahal looks like
Taj Mahal is a Brazilian quartzite with a cream to light tan ground and soft, flowing veins in gold, beige and pale gray. It has the gentle look of a warm marble, but it is quartzite, so it is much harder and resists scratches and acid etching. That mix is why it is one of the most popular quartzites for kitchen countertops.
Taj Mahal and Taj Mahal Supreme
Both names are here. Taj Mahal Supreme is a selection with a cleaner, more even ground and finer veining. Standard Taj Mahal carries more movement and tone variation from slab to slab. The batch photos on each product show every slab, so you can see which suits your project.
Four finishes
Taj Mahal is offered polished, honed, leathered and textured. Polished gives a bright face and the most contrast in the veins. Honed is smooth and matte. Leathered is brushed, soft to the touch and slightly deeper in color. Textured has a stronger relief that catches the light. Slabs come at 1 1/4 inch for countertops and 3/4 inch for vanities, backsplashes and walls.
