Vanity Backsplashes
The strip of wall behind a bathroom faucet takes more water than people expect. Every hand wash throws a fine spray at it, and drywall paint gives up long before the vanity does. A stone backsplash solves that, and it does a second, quieter job: it covers the gap where the countertop meets a wall that is never quite straight.
These are cut from the same quartz and composite slabs as our vanity tops, in the same colours, so a Charcoal Soapstone top gets a Charcoal Soapstone backsplash with the same surface and the same edge. Widths run from 24 to 72 inches, matching the standard cabinet sizes, and the height is the usual four inch return that sits under a wall mounted mirror without crowding it.
When to use a stone backsplash and when to tile
A stone backsplash is the right call when you want the top to read as one continuous piece and you do not want a grout line at the counter. It installs in minutes with silicone, it is a single joint to keep clean, and it does not date. Tile is the better call when the wall behind the vanity is the feature of the room, when you are running the material up to the ceiling, or when you want pattern rather than a plain field.
- Cut from the same slab as the matching countertop
- Standard four inch height, sized 24 to 72 inches wide
- Installs with silicone, no grout line at the counter
- Wipes clean with soap and water, no sealing
- Also works as a side splash where the top meets a return wall
Side splashes for a top that meets a wall
If your vanity sits in an alcove or hard against a return wall, order an extra piece for the side. Water runs down the end of a top and into the joint far more often than it runs up the back, and a side splash stops that joint from staining. Cut pieces can be trimmed on site by any stone fabricator if the length needs adjusting.
Finishing the wall above
Above the backsplash the wall is yours to decide. Paint is the simplest and the easiest to change later. If you want the room to do more, our marble tile and mosaic ranges include the small formats that suit a vanity wall, and bathroom tile collects everything rated for a wet room.
