A chequer in three marbles
Marble mosaics in the Checker design, cut from black, Bianco Dolomiti and Afyon Gray, on twelve inch square sheets. The finish mixes more than one surface treatment. Six sheets make a box, covering 5.4 square feet.
Design
Three stones, one grid
A chequerboard normally uses two colours. Bringing in a third, Afyon Gray between the black and the white, softens the jump from one square to the next and stops the pattern from shouting. Multi finish adds another layer, since a honed square and a polished one of the same stone take the light differently. Slight variation is recorded sheet to sheet, so a large run keeps its rhythm. This is a pattern that wants to be seen whole, which makes it better suited to a defined area than to a long corridor.

Where to use it
Approved across the house
Ratings cover interior floors and walls, residential and commercial alike, bath floors and walls, shower walls and floors, splashbacks and light traffic underfoot. The rooms given are bathroom, kitchen and living room. White kitchen floor tiles in a chequer want the layout set out on paper first, since the pattern has to land squarely in the room to work. Thirteen boxes will see out 60 square feet.

Care
Seal after installation, then every one to two years. Use a pH neutral stone cleaner and keep bleach, ammonia and abrasive pads away from the polished squares.
