European Sugar, polished small
A polished marble tile in a small rectangle, two and three quarter inches by five and a half, three eighths deep, from the European Sugar collection in white. A box holds sixty pieces for 6.3 square feet, and variation between them is moderate. Samples ship from the product page if you would rather see one piece first.
Design
Sugar under a polish
Polishing buffs the face to a mirror, which deepens whatever colour and marking the stone carries and sends light back off it. On a white marble that means the grey comes forward rather than sitting flat. Variation is moderate, so the pieces differ visibly without any one of them standing apart from the rest. A small format multiplies the effect, since every piece in the box is another separate reading of the same quarry. Dry lay from several boxes before setting anything, or one box of darker pieces ends up in one corner.

Where to use it
Broad indoor approval
Interior floors and walls in both homes and commercial work are recorded, along with bath floors and walls, shower walls and floors, backsplash and light residential floors. Bathroom, living room and kitchen appear as rooms. White kitchen floor tiles cut from polished marble need a sealer and quick attention to spills, because acid dulls the shine before it ever touches the stone underneath. Sixty square feet takes eleven boxes. It is not rated frost resistant, so keep the work indoors.

Care
Seal after installation and reseal every one to two years. Use a pH neutral stone cleaner and avoid bleach, ammonia and abrasive pads. Wipe lemon, vinegar and wine off promptly.
