Travertine · Thresholds
A yellow travertine threshold
Giallo thresholds are cut from travertine at 4x36, honed and filled, 3/4 inch thick with a bevelled edge. Variation between pieces is moderate, so the yellow shifts a little from one to the next.
Design
Honed and filled
Travertine forms with natural voids, and a filled finish means those holes have been closed before honing, giving a surface that is smooth to the hand and even in appearance. The colour group is Giallo, a warm yellow. The bevel takes the edge off the top arris. Style is recorded as classic.

Where to use it
Doorways, home or commercial
The rating covers both residential and commercial interior floors, and kitchen, living room and bathroom are recorded as rooms. Thresholds are ordered by the piece and cut to the finished opening rather than to the frame.

Care
Travertine is porous and needs sealing after installation, then resealing every one to two years. Acids etch it, so clean with a pH neutral stone product and keep vinegar and citrus cleaners away.
