Ceramic · Mosaics
Ceramic mosaics in a matte rosebud, one inch squares on 12 by 12 inch mesh sheets at 3/8 of an inch thick. The style on file is hand painted and the pieces are recorded as uniform, so the speckle is in the glaze rather than in the difference between one tile and the next. Six sheets to a box.

Design
Rosebud is logged as multicolor, and the collection name, speckled ceramic, describes what that means in practice: flecks scattered through a matte ground rather than a single flat tone. Matte takes the reflection out, which lets the speckle read instead of the shine. A one inch grid puts a great many grout lines into a small area, and that grid is as much of the finished look as the colour is. Grout choice changes it completely, a matching tone letting the field read as one surface and a contrasting one turning it into a drawn lattice.
No reflection, so the flecks carry the colour.
The variation is within each tile, not between them.
Where to use it
The approvals on file run to backsplash, shower walls and floors, bath floors and walls, residential and commercial interior walls, and residential light floors, with bathroom as the recorded room. One inch squares on mesh follow a curve or a fall better than any larger format, which is the usual reason to choose them for a shower pan. Butter the back of each sheet fully, because a hollow spot cracks a piece once weight goes over it.
Fine squares bend to a slope without cutting.
A void under a sheet turns into a cracked piece.
Why we chose it
No sealing is needed on the glaze. Any household tile cleaner works, and a matte face hides smudges better than a glossy one. The grout is what will want the attention over time.
