Sahara Beige, nearly two feet square
Polished marble tiles at 23 5/8 inches square and three quarters of an inch thick, in the beige called Sahara. Three pieces make a box and cover 11.62 square feet. An andorra 2x12 molding matches the colour.
Design
Fewer joints, more stone
A tile this size shows nearly four square feet of uninterrupted marble, so the stone itself has to hold the attention rather than the grid around it. Beige marble tiles at three quarters of an inch are heavy, and that weight is the reason to back butter fully and to work with a second pair of hands. Polishing deepens the beige and picks up the fossil markings that run through this quarry. Other formats exist in the same colour if a large field wants a texture change: two rock face mosaics and two herringbones, one honed and one fine textured.

Where to use it
The approval recorded for this tile is shower walls, with bathroom as the room. Marble tile shower work at this size means fewer joints where water can find a way through, though it also means every cut around a valve or a niche is a big one. Six boxes take a surface to 60 square feet.

Care
Seal after fitting and reseal every one to two years. Keep to a pH neutral stone cleaner, and take shampoo and cleaning products off the polish rather than letting them dry on it.
