Seafoam subway with a bevel
A ceramic subway tile at 3 by 9 inches in a glossy seafoam blue, with a bevelled edge. Twenty four pieces come to a box for 4.47 square feet. It belongs to the pure wall tile ceramic range, which carries the same colour in five other sizes and three trims.
Design
What the bevel does
A bevelled edge slopes away from the face, so each tile draws its own shadow line where it meets the next one. On blue ceramic tiles that effect is stronger than it would be on white, because the glaze already catches light and the bevel gives it somewhere to break. Three by nine is longer and leaner than standard subway, which changes a running bond noticeably. Stack them instead, run them vertically or set a herringbone, and the same box gives a different result.

The bevel picks out every tile edge.

The same seafoam runs from 2x6 up to 4x12.
Where to use it
Walls, wet areas, light floors
Recorded approvals cover backsplash, residential and commercial interior walls, shower walls and light residential floors, and bathroom is the room listed. Sixteen boxes take a run to 60 square feet. Three matching trims exist in the colour, a pencil trim, a finish trim and an edge trim, which is what saves a run from ending in a raw cut edge.

Care
Nothing needs sealing. Household tile cleaner and a soft cloth keep the glaze clear, and the bevel will hold a little more grout haze than a flat tile, so rinse it well after grouting.
