Seagrass Honed Winter Leaf Limestone Wall Decos 4 7/8x6 13/16

Limestone · Wall Decos

A leaf cut in green limestone

Seagrass Winter Leaf is a honed limestone wall deco, 4 7/8 by 6 13/16, cut to a leaf outline and covering 0.12 square feet a piece. Wall decos are shaped pieces meant for feature walls and backsplashes rather than for floors.

Design

Soft stone, soft colour

Limestone has an even texture with small fossil and shell traces and less contrast than marble, which suits a shaped piece where the outline should lead rather than the veining. The colour group is recorded as Seagrass, a green. Honing leaves the surface matte. Bodies run 3/8 inch, and limestone tiles in this colour also come as 12x12, 4x4, a 2x2 mosaic and a textured hexagon sheet.

Quiet stone

Limestone carries less contrast than marble, so the shape stays the subject.

Matching field

Tiles and mosaic sheets share this colour for the surrounding surface.

Where to use it

Feature walls

Residential interior walls is the recorded rating, and kitchen, living room and bathroom all appear as rooms. Pieces are sold individually at 0.12 square feet, so a panel is counted piece by piece. Shaped stone wants its setting out drawn first, since a cut leaf at the perimeter is more noticeable than a cut square would be.

Draw the panel

Decide where cut pieces fall before setting begins.

Three rooms listed

Kitchen, living room and bathroom are all recorded.

Why we chose it

  • Shape over patternThe outline does the work, which suits a stone with little contrast.
  • Matching surfacesField tiles and mosaics exist in the same Seagrass colour.
  • Matte finishHoning keeps the face even and hides small marks.

Care

Limestone is porous and needs a penetrating sealer after installation, with resealing every one to two years in damp areas. Acids etch it quickly, so clean with a pH neutral stone cleaner and keep vinegar and citrus away.
