Marble · Tiles
Silver Horizon honed hexagon marble tiles at 5 25/32 by 5, a size that sits between a mosaic piece and a full tile. Sixteen pieces come in a box covering 2.4 square feet, with a 1x12 flatiron trim available.
Design
Hexagons this size behave differently from either mosaic hexagons or large format ones. Each piece is big enough to show its own stone, yet small enough that the honeycomb pattern still reads clearly across a surface. Variation is slight, so the grey stays consistent while the geometry carries the interest. Honed, 3/8 inch, and gray marble tiles in this stone keep an even tone across a run. Loose hexagons also give more freedom than a mesh sheet at an awkward perimeter, since each piece can be placed and cut on its own terms.
Larger than mosaic hexagons, smaller than a full format tile.
Slight variation keeps the pattern rather than the stone in focus.
Where to use it
Shower floors is recorded, living room the noted room. Twenty nine boxes cover 60 square feet once cutting is added, at 2.4 square feet a box. Individual hexagons on a sloping floor need more careful setting than a mesh sheet would, since each piece has to sit correctly against the fall on its own. Dry laying a few rows before fixing anything is worth the time, because the direction the hexagons run sets the character of the whole surface.
2.4 square feet a box means a high count over a large area.
Loose hexagons take longer on a slope than mesh sheets do.

Why we chose it
Seal after installation and reseal every one to two years, more attentively where the surface stays wet. Acids etch marble, so cleaning means a pH neutral stone product only.
