Marble · Mosaics
Honed marble mosaics cut as penny rounds, worked in Snow White with Bianco Dolomiti, on sheets of 11 1/4 by 11 3/4 inches. Six sheets fill a box for 5.29 square feet. Pieces are logged as uniform.

Design
A penny round leaves a small triangular gap at every meeting of three circles, so grout becomes a visible part of the design rather than a line to be hidden. That is why a uniform stone matters here: with circles this small, veining that jumped from piece to piece would turn the sheet into noise. Honing keeps the marble matte, which reads better underfoot than a polish and takes fingerprints less readily. A 12x12 sheet exists in the same stone, along with a 12x24 tile and a polished 18x18. Six sheets to a box is the standard count for a mosaic of this size, and the sheets are handed, so keep them the same way up as you work.
The gaps between circles are part of the design.
Pieces look alike, which small circles need.

Where to use it
Interior floors and walls in homes and commercial settings, shower walls and floors, backsplash and light residential traffic are all recorded, with bathroom as the room. Marble tile backsplash work suits penny rounds because the sheets can be cut between circles with a knife rather than through them. Fourteen boxes cover 60 square feet. Fill behind every sheet, or a circle sitting over a void will crack.
5.29 square feet each across 60 square feet.
A knife through the mesh beats a saw through stone.
