Hexagons cut by waterjet

Thassos Hexagon is a waterjet deco in polished white marble, each piece measuring 5 25/32 by 5 and covering 0.15 square feet. Waterjet cutting is what allows a shape this precise in stone, and the pieces are sold individually.

Design

Precision in a soft stone

Thassos is a bright white marble, and polishing it lifts that brightness further. A hexagonal outline cut by waterjet arrives with edges clean enough to sit tight against its neighbours, which is what makes the geometry read rather than the grout. Bodies are 3/8 inch. Matching pieces exist as a 1/2x12 pencil liner and a 2x12 andorra, and the same white marble tiles run in several other formats.

Tight geometry

Waterjet edges let pieces meet closely, so the shape carries the surface.

Trims to match

A pencil liner and an andorra profile share this stone.

Where to use it

Shower floors is the recorded usage, living room the noted room. Pieces are counted individually at 0.15 square feet, so a small area still runs to a high piece count. White stone in a wet area shows soap residue sooner than a darker one, which is a maintenance point rather than a performance one.

High piece count

0.15 square feet a piece means plenty of units even in a small area.

Plan the edges

Hexagon runs need their cut pieces placed deliberately at the perimeter.

Why we chose it

  • Clean shapeWaterjet cutting gives an outline that regular tooling cannot match in stone.
  • Bright whiteThassos is among the brighter marbles, and polish increases that.
  • Matching profilesLiner and andorra trims exist in the same stone for edges.

Care

Seal after installation and reseal every one to two years, more attentively in a shower. Acids etch marble, so avoid vinegar and citrus cleaners and use a pH neutral stone product rather than bleach or ammonia.
