Design

Clay under the white

Terracotta is a handmade clay body, and the glaze laid over it pools where the surface dips and thins where it rises. That is why no two of these are quite the same white, and why the variation inside one box counts as the look rather than a fault. Matte holds the effect steady instead of bouncing light off it. The bevel gives every tile its own shadow line, which on a white field is most of what stops it from reading as a flat plane. Twenty five pieces to a box is an awkward number to divide, which is another reason to work from several boxes at once rather than finishing one before opening the next.

Light residential floors

The rating on file is residential light floors, with living room as the room noted. Twelve boxes reach 60 square feet with cutting allowed for. Handmade clay is not as uniform as machine pressed tile, so open several boxes at once and mix the pieces as you go rather than working through one box at a time.
