Frontier20 Porcelain Pavers
Frontier20 is porcelain at 20 mm instead of the usual 9, and that extra thickness changes what you can do with it. A 20 mm paver can be dry laid straight onto compacted gravel, set in sand, or raised on pedestals over a roof deck, none of which a normal tile survives. It can also be mortared down like any other tile if the base is already there.
The advantage over concrete or natural stone is upkeep. Porcelain does not need sealing, does not stain from leaf litter or barbecue grease, will not host moss in the way a porous paver does, and comes out of a winter looking the same as it went in. The colour is fired into the body, so it does not fade in direct sun.
The looks
Eight faces run through the range: limestone, travertine, slate, marble, terrazzo, stone, concrete and wood. Sizes are 12x24, 24x24, 12x48, 24x48 and 24x36, in greys, beiges, whites, blacks and a few blues and browns. Surfaces are matte or slip resistant, and outdoors the slip resistant version is usually the right call.
Finishing a pool or a set of steps
- Coping pieces with a bullnose edge for the pool perimeter
- Stair treads and corner pieces, left and right, for steps
- Linear risers at 8x24 for the vertical face of a step
- Matching field pavers so the deck and the edge are the same face

Lead times
Most of the Frontier20 range is made to order, which means a production run rather than a shelf pick. Plan the order early in the project rather than at the end, and order the coping and stair pieces at the same time as the field, since they are produced together.
