Honed for a kitchen. It is matte, so the light etch marks that acid leaves do not show. Polished marble stays sharper looking but every etch is visible under a light.
Will a marble countertop stain?+
Sealed marble resists water and oil for long enough to wipe them up. What marble does not resist is acid, which etches the surface rather than staining it. That is a change in the polish, not a mark you can clean off.
How thick is a marble slab?+
Two and three centimetre slabs are the common choices for countertops. Thicker stone needs less support and reads more substantial at the edge.
Can I see the actual slab before buying?+
Yes, and for slabs we recommend it. Veining varies from block to block and even across one slab, so the piece you choose is the piece you get.
Marble Slabs
Marble is the stone most people picture when they think of a luxury kitchen or bathroom: soft veining, deep color and a surface that glows when polished. It is softer than granite and quartzite, so acids like lemon and wine can etch it. Seal it, use cutting boards, and many owners come to like the patina it builds.
