How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

We hold one batch of Agata Blu A Lappato Lucido Porcelain Slab 64x128, which is a group of pieces cut from the same block. These porcelain slabs arrive in 64x128 sizes with a 15/32 inch thickness. Agata Blu in blue

The blue base carries faint grey veining that moves across each slab in its own direction. The lappato lucido finish catches overhead lights and shows a soft glow without mirror reflection. You will see natural variation between slabs because the veining and the pattern do not repeat. A sample takes 6 to 9 business days to prepare.

We stock the slabs at our Fairfax warehouse in one batch, and slabs from that batch match most closely. Rectified edges allow a grout joint of about 1/16 to 1/8 inch.

Care

Porcelain needs no sealing and cleans with any standard tile cleaner. Rectified edges require a narrow grout joint of about 1/16 to 1/8 inch. Keep the surface dry in outdoor installations to maintain slip resistance.

We deliver to a licensed fabricator. Delivery uses an A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse, or crated LTL freight beyond that distance.
