How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

White stone with a polished finish reads bright under kitchen lights and bathroom vanity bulbs. Calacatta Altissimo arrives in full slabs of random sizes that a fabricator cuts for countertops and walls. These marble slabs are sold by quote so you can request pricing for the exact pieces you need. Each slab comes at 1 1/4 inch thick and fits a modern style. The inventory status shifts as inventory moves through the warehouse.

Design

Calacatta in a polished finish

The white background holds gray veining that moves across the surface in broad strokes. A polished surface reflects light and deepens the stone's color while showing the natural marks of the block. Every slab carries its own size and its own set of markings. You can expect variation from one slab to the next because each piece is cut from a different part of the block. The veining and the size of each slab differ, so dry layout helps spread the marks evenly.

Polished depth

The polish brings out the gray veining and adds a mirror shine to the white background.

Where to use it

This stone suits residential countertops, residential interior walls and commercial interior walls. We keep six slabs in Fairfax at the moment, and slabs from one batch match most closely. A licensed fabricator templates and installs the stone after you select the pieces. The fabricator cuts the slabs to order for countertops, shelves and large format walls. Stock levels change, so check the batch list for the current sizes in stock.

Care

Seal marble after installation and reseal every one to two years to protect the polished surface. Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and avoid bleach, ammonia and abrasive pads. Dry lay slabs from several boxes before setting to spread the color variation evenly across the installation.

How is a slab delivered?

We deliver slabs to a licensed fabricator by A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse. Beyond that range, we ship by crated LTL freight.
