Yes, and it's very common. Marble is calcium based and can etch from acids, so seal it on install, wipe up splashes quickly, and use a pH-neutral cleaner. Honed marble hides etching and water spots better than polished.
How many tiles should I order for a remodel?+
Order about 10 to 15 percent more than your measured square footage to cover cuts, waste, and any future repairs. Buying from one lot also keeps natural-stone color and veining consistent across the room.
Do I need different tile for the shower than the rest of the bath?+

Finishes and upkeep
Honed stone is matte and hides water spots. Polished stone shows off veining and reflects light. Tumbled edges look older and softer. Any natural stone should be sealed when it goes in, and you'll want to wipe up toothpaste and cleaners quickly since acids can dull marble. If you'd rather not think about it, porcelain and ceramic need no sealing at all.
