Frequently Asked Questions

What sizes does Milestone come in?

Field tiles at 12x12 and 12x24, mosaics at 12x12, bullnose at 3x24 and cove base at 6x12.

What colours are available?

North White, South Grey, West Black and a beige, all in the same stone face.

Why are there no large format sizes?

The series is built for smaller rooms, where a 24x48 would be cut on most of its pieces. For a large open floor, Journey or Infinity carry the same kind of face at 24x48.

Can the mosaic go on a shower floor?

Yes. The 12x12 mesh sheet cuts to shape around a drain and lets the floor fall correctly, which a single large tile cannot do.

Milestone Stone Look Porcelain

Milestone names its colours by compass point: North White, South Grey, West Black and an eastern beige. The face is a fine grained stone with more visible texture than Journey, which gives a floor a bit more life at close range without changing what it reads as from across the room.

It is a smaller series, built around 12x12 and 12x24, and that makes it a good fit for bathrooms, laundries and hallways where a 24x48 would need too many cuts to be worth the money.

Field tiles at 12x12 and 12x24, mosaics at 12x12, bullnose at 3x24 and cove base at 6x12, all matte.

Small rooms and large tiles

A common mistake is putting a very large tile into a small bathroom on the theory that fewer joints make the room look bigger. What actually happens is that most of the tiles get cut, and a floor made of offcuts looks worse than one laid whole. In a room under about forty square feet, a 12x24 is usually the largest size that still lays cleanly.
