How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Black Travertine Slab Random arrives in a polished finish that reflects light and deepens the stone's dark tone. This stone is sold as full slabs in random sizes. Pricing is handled by quote for each project. You can request pricing for the travertine slabs that match your design. The slab comes in a 1 1/4 inch thickness and fits modern interiors.

Design

Polished black stone

The polished surface reads as a deep black with subtle tonal shifts where the stone's natural channels appear. Each slab carries its own markings and veining patterns. You will see slight variation between pieces as the stone moves through the batch. The finish gives a mirror shine that shows wear sooner than honed options. Expect natural pits that are filled at the factory for a smoother read.

Where to use it

This slab suits residential countertops, shower walls, residential interior walls, and commercial interior walls. It is rated for the kitchen and bathroom. A licensed fabricator templates and installs the stone for you. We currently have six slabs in stock at the Fairfax warehouse. Slabs from the same batch match most closely. Random sizes allow the fabricator to cut for specific openings.

Seal the stone after installation and reseal every one to two years. Use pH-neutral cleaners only. Avoid acidic products that can damage the polished surface.

We deliver to a licensed fabricator by A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse. Beyond that range we use crated LTL freight.
