How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Quartzite · Slab

The slabs in stock measure random dimensions. Blue Sea Polished Quartzite Slab Random arrives as full quartzite slabs in the sizes listed on this page. The finish is polished and reads as a grey surface with natural veining. Pricing is by quote for the slabs you choose. view current batch inventory and request a slab quote to plan your next install.

Design

Grey with natural veining

The stone is a grey quartzite with a polished surface. Veining runs through the slab in irregular lines that shift from one slab to the next. The polish deepens the grey and highlights the markings. Each slab is one piece of stone with its own size and its own pattern. Compare slabs in the current batch to see how the veining varies between pieces.

Random slab sizes

Each slab is one piece of stone with its own size and its own markings.

Polished grey surface

A polished finish is buffed to a mirror shine that deepens the stone's color and veining.

Where to use it

Shower walls and kitchen counters

This quartzite suits shower walls, commercial interior walls, residential interior walls, and residential countertops. A licensed fabricator templates and installs it. We keep slabs from multiple batches in stock at our Fairfax warehouse. Slabs from one batch match most closely. Check batch availability and schedule a fabricator consultation to move forward.

Why we chose it

Batch consistencyA batch is the group of slabs cut from one block, so slabs in the same batch look the closest to each other.
Random dimensionsSlabs are sold in random sizes and are cut to order for countertops, shelves and large-format walls.
Polished durabilityQuartzite is a metamorphic sandstone that is harder than marble and holds a polish well.

Care

Seal the surface in kitchens and wet rooms to resist etching. Clean with a pH neutral stone cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads that scratch the polish.

Questions we get

How do I get a price for these slabs?

Slabs are sold by quote. You request a quote for the specific slabs you choose from the current batch.

How is a slab delivered to the fabricator?

Delivery is by A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse holding the slab, and by crated LTL freight beyond that.

Why choose this batch over another?

Slabs from one batch match most closely because they come from the same block.
