How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Porcelain · Slab

The previous draft was rejected for: same-openers. Fix that. /no_think

Commercial interior walls, residential countertops and residential interior walls are the only surfaces this porcelain slab is rated for. Calacatta Black B Lappato Lucido arrives in a deep black tone with a lappato lucido finish that balances polish and matte. We sell these porcelain slabs by quote because each piece carries a unique size and pattern. The 64x128 inch format comes as full slabs for your project. Pricing is determined by quote upon selection.

Design

Black Slab Variation

The black background carries grey and white veining that shifts across the surface. Each slab shows its own markings and veining density. The lappato lucido finish reads softly in bright light and holds a subtle sheen. Variation between slabs is inherent to the material. The batch list on this page shows the current sizes in stock.

Batch Matching

Slabs cut from the same block share the closest veining and colour match.

Full Slab Format

The 64x128 inch size ships as a single piece to a licensed fabricator.

Where to use it

Licensed Fabricator Install

A licensed fabricator templates and installs this slab for commercial interior walls, residential countertops and residential interior walls. The porcelain is dense and fires to under 0.5 percent water absorption. It suits bathroom, living room, kitchen and outdoor applications. Rectified edges allow a narrow grout joint of about 1/16 to 1/8 inch. Slabs are cut to order for countertops, shelves and large format walls.

Outdoor Rating

Low water absorption makes this porcelain suitable for outdoor use.

Narrow Grout

Rectified edges support a 1/16 to 1/8 inch grout joint.

Why we chose it

Stocked sizesThe batch list on this page provides the current 64x128 inch sizes available.
Finish choiceThe lappato lucido finish offers a balanced sheen that reads well in varied light.

Care

Porcelain does not need sealing and cleans with any standard tile cleaner. A wet saw with a porcelain blade yields clean edges for on-site adjustments.
