How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Quartzite · Slab

Calacatta Lux Textured Quartzite Slab Random is a gray quartzite sold as full slabs in random sizes. The stone carries a textured finish that adds surface relief and reduces slip. Pricing is by quote for the slabs you select. A sample takes 6 to 9 business days to prepare. We do not list per box figures or square foot totals for slabs.

Design

Gray veining on textured slabs

The gray base shows natural veining that shifts from one slab to the next. Each slab is one piece of stone with its own size and its own markings. The textured finish reads soft in overhead light but catches shadows along the grain. Expect variation between slabs because the stone is cut from different blocks. A batch is the group of slabs cut from one block, so slabs in the same batch look the closest to each other.

Natural variation

Each slab carries unique veining and size. Slabs from the same batch match most closely.

Textured surface

The finish adds grip and hides daily wear. It works well on walls and countertops.

Where to use it

Walls and counters in living room, bathroom, kitchen

This slab suits residential interior walls, residential countertops, and commercial interior walls. A licensed fabricator templates and installs it. We do not deliver slabs to a job site. Delivery is by A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse holding the slab, and by crated LTL freight beyond that. The stone resists etching far better than marble but should still be sealed in kitchens and wet rooms.

Fabricator installation

A licensed fabricator templates and installs the slab. We ship only to fabricators.

Etch resistance

Quartzite resists etching better than marble. Seal in kitchens and wet rooms.
