How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Calacatta Picasso Classic Polished Marble Slab Random measures random dimensions and comes in 1 1/4 inch thickness. These marble slabs are sold by quote for residential and commercial projects. The finish is polished, giving the white stone a reflective surface that highlights its natural veining. Pricing is determined by quote based on the specific slabs selected for your job.

Design

The white background carries grey veining that runs across each piece of stone. The polished finish reflects overhead lighting and deepens the contrast between the light and dark areas. Each slab measures a different random size, so the veining patterns never repeat exactly. Variation between one slab and the next is expected as the stone is cut from different parts of the block. The veining size and placement differ on every single slab.

Stone Tile Depot stocks slabs from one batch at the Fairfax warehouse. A licensed fabricator templates and installs the stone for residential countertops, residential interior walls and commercial interior walls. The suitable surfaces are living room walls, bathroom walls and kitchen counters. Slabs from the same batch match most closely. Fabricators cut the stone to order for shelves and large format wall panels.

Marble reacts with acids like lemon and wine. Seal the stone after installation and reseal it every one to two years. Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner to avoid etching the polished surface.
