BEAR BIRD BATH
A black bear cub grips the trunk side on, hind legs pushing, head turned up toward the basin. A small bird has landed on the bark just above it and has not moved.
That posture points somewhere. The cub looks up, your eye follows it up, and it arrives at the water. A seated animal gives you nothing to follow.
The trunk is pale timber with the basin cut as a cross section, growth rings spreading from the center. It is slimmer than most animal bird baths, which is what lets it go into a border that is already full.
Woodland and informal gardens, a planted border, under a tree. It reads as a cut stump so it wants green around it rather than paving. Turn the cub toward the approach, since from behind it is a plain trunk. Leave two or three feet of open ground for the birds and keep a shrub within a short flight.

Two pieces, no tools. Set it on level solid ground.
Turn the cub toward where people come from. From the other side it is a plain trunk.
Two inches is the number. Birds wade rather than swim. Shallow water also warms faster in spring.
A soft brush and plain water every couple of weeks. Afternoon shade holds the hand painted color on the cub at its best for longer.
Drain the basin before the first hard frost and leave it empty or turned over. Sealed concrete comes through freeze and thaw well when dry.

This one has a single cub climbing the side of a slim trunk, so it is narrower and the pose is in motion. The two bear piece is broader, with both bears seated facing forward and a honeycomb between them.
Yes, cast into the bark rather than added on. It cannot be knocked off and needs no fixing.
