How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Granite · Slab

This granite slab works for shower walls, commercial interior walls, residential countertops, and residential interior walls. Juparana Bordeaux reads in a red tone with a polished finish that brings out the stone's natural depth. We sell this material as full slabs in the random sizes currently listed on the batch page. Each order requires a specific quote based on the slabs you select. We do not carry a standard per box figure or a square foot total for this product.

Design

Red granite with polished depth

The red base carries a speckled grain typical of granite, with darker minerals scattered throughout the matrix. A polished finish buffs the surface to a mirror shine that deepens the stone's color and brings out the natural veining. You will notice slight variation between pieces from one slab to the next. Each slab is one piece of stone with its own size and its own markings. The random sizes mean every cut will be custom to your template.

Bathroom and kitchen applications

We recommend this stone for bathroom and kitchen spaces where durability matters. A licensed fabricator will template and install the slab on site. We currently have no batches or slabs in stock at our Fairfax warehouse. Slabs from one batch match most closely, so ask for the current batch list when you request a quote. Granite is a hard igneous stone with a speckled grain that resists scratches and heat better than marble.

Care

A polished granite is dense and needs sealing less often than marble, though a sealer still helps in kitchens. Wipe up spills promptly to maintain the mirror shine. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can dull the reflective surface.

We deliver to a licensed fabricator by A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse. Beyond that range, we ship by crated LTL freight.
