Slides in Silver Sky
Long narrow bars of Silver Sky marble set on an 11x17 sheet, honed rather than polished. Variation is moderate, so the grey moves across a run. Each sheet covers 1.29 square feet and a box of six covers 7.74.
Design
Bars rather than squares
Slides sets elongated pieces side by side, so the surface reads in lines instead of in a grid. Honing keeps it matte, which suits a stone with this much movement because a polish would add reflection on top of tonal variation. The sheet is 1/2 inch thick, heavier in section than most mosaic sheets, so a wall build up should allow for it. Gray marble mosaics like this generally sit better against plain materials than patterned ones.

Where to use it
Wide approval, one room listed
Backsplash, shower floors and walls, commercial and residential interior floors and walls, residential light floors, and bath floors and walls all appear. Kitchen is the only room recorded. Nine boxes cover 60 square feet once cutting is added. A sample is available, which is sensible where variation is moderate. Mixing sheets from several boxes during setting spreads the tonal movement rather than letting a darker run settle in one place.

Care
Seal after installation and every one to two years thereafter. Acid etches marble on contact, so cleaning stays with a pH neutral stone product and nothing citrus or chlorine based.
