Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Contract line different?

An 8 mm body instead of 9 mm, plainer faces, and colourways chosen to work across large areas. It is built for commercial specification rather than for a showroom display.

Is 8 mm tile strong enough for a floor?

For light traffic floors, walls and hospitality work, yes. For a busy family floor or anything taking wheeled loads, choose one of the 9 mm residential series instead.

Why are the series named after cities?

It is how Landmark separates the Contract line from its residential collections. Charleston, Berlin, Chicago, Miami and the rest are colour and face families, not places the tile comes from. All of it is made in Tennessee.

Can I order a small quantity?

Yes, though for a commercial line it is worth ordering the entire job at once. Batches shade slightly differently, and a later top up may not match the original run.

Landmark Contract Porcelain

The Contract line is what Landmark builds for specifiers rather than for showrooms: a thinner 8 mm body, restrained faces, and colourways that hold up across a large floor without drawing attention to themselves. The series carry city names, Charleston, Berlin, Chicago, Miami, Barcelona, Siena, Pisa, Brooklyn, New York, Seattle, Portland and Washington among them.

Thinner does not mean weaker in the way people assume. At 8 mm the tile is lighter, easier to handle on a wall, and cheaper to ship, which is why it suits hospitality fit outs, retail walls, offices and residential rooms without heavy traffic. For a busy household floor the 9 mm series are the better choice.

What is in the line

Field tiles at 12x24 and 24x48, mosaics at 12x12, bullnose trim at 3x24, and a wood look plank at 8x40. Faces cover stone, travertine, concrete, marble and wood, in greys, beiges, whites, blacks and browns, all in a matte finish.

Buying from a commercial line

Two things matter more here than on a residential range. Order the whole job at once, because a commercial line runs in batches and a later top up may not shade match. And order trim with the field, since a contract series carries fewer trim options than a showroom one.

The residential series sit at Landmark Ceramics, and the full store range is in porcelain tile.
