Soul Fabric Look Porcelain

A fabric look tile sounds like a novelty until you see one on a wall. The face carries the weave of a textile, cotton, wool or linen, which under raking light gives a surface with texture but no pattern and no shine. On a bathroom wall it does what a plain matte tile cannot: it softens the room.

Colours are named after the material. White Cotton, Silver Wool and Ivory Line are the core three, with a brown at the warm end.

Sizes and pieces

Field tiles at 6x12, 6x24 and 12x24, with cove base at 6x12. All matte.

Where it belongs

Walls first: bathrooms, bedroom features, the back of a niche. It works on a floor in a low traffic room, but the texture is what you are buying and a floor hides it under furniture and rugs. In a shower, run it on the walls and use a mosaic from another series on the floor for the fall to the drain.
