How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Granite · Slab

American Black Honed Granite arrives as full slabs in random sizes. The stone reads as a deep black surface with a honed finish that softens the natural grain. Pricing is by quote for the slabs you select. View the veining and colour notes for details on the stone. See where this granite works in a project before requesting a price.

Design

Black granite with honed finish

The surface carries a dark, even black ground with a honed texture that absorbs light rather than reflecting it. Each slab presents its own speckled grain and random veining patterns. The matte face hides scratches and etching better than a polished cut. Slabs from the same batch share the closest colour match. Why batch matching matters is explained below. Why random sizes matter is covered next. Why honed works here is detailed last.

Matte surface

The honed finish absorbs light and resists showing marks.

Natural variation

Veining and grain differ between every slab.
