How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Basalt Black is a sintered stone slab with a charcoal-black ground and understated diagonal movement beneath a Satin finish. The mood is dark. This manufactured mineral surface is pressed and fired, with a through-body pattern that repeats closely across pieces from the same production run.

Design

Charcoal Bands Sweeping Sideways

Near-black and dark brown-gray tones overlap in long, soft bands that angle gently from lower left toward upper right. The pattern stays dense but subdued. Fine cloudy streaks appear throughout, yet no pale vein breaks the field or creates a sharp point of contrast.

Dark directional grain

Long diagonal bands lend movement while remaining close to the charcoal ground color.

Measured sheen

Satin gives the dark face a soft response to light without producing a full gloss.
