How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Write the product page story for Black Honed Soapstone Slab Random

Black Honed Soapstone Slab Random arrives as full stone, priced by quote. You select the exact slabs from our warehouse before we move forward. The material is soapstone in a solid black tone with a honed finish that reads matte under light. We supply this slab in random sizes that each carry its own dimensions and natural markings. Pricing is determined by quote rather than a published rate.

Design

Black in a honed finish

The stone presents a uniform black ground without heavy patterning. Each slab carries its own markings and size, so the veining and grain shift from one piece to the next. The honed finish grounds the slab in a soft matte face that absorbs light rather than reflecting it. Variation between slabs is natural and visible up close. Expect the surface to show the character of the stone.

Random slab sizes

Each slab measures differently and arrives as a single piece of stone.

Matte honed face

The honed finish hides scratches and etching better than a polished face.

Where to use it

This slab fits residential countertops, commercial interior walls, shower walls, and residential interior walls. A licensed fabricator templates and installs the stone after you approve the selection. We do not keep inventory right now, so availability depends on the batch list at the warehouse. Slabs from one batch match most closely because they come from the same block. The fabricator cuts the stone to order for countertops, shelves, and large-format walls.

Fabricator installation

A licensed fabricator templates and installs the slab after selection.

Batch matching

Slabs from one batch look the closest to each other.

Why we chose it

Batch consistencySlabs cut from the same block share the closest veining and grain patterns.
Random dimensionsEach slab arrives with its own size and natural markings that the fabricator accounts for.
Honed matte faceThe honed finish absorbs light and resists showing scratches better than polished stone.

Care

Wipe the honed surface with a soft cloth and pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads and acidic products that dull the matte face.
