How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Britannia Limestone in Soft Honed Gray

Britannia is a pale gray limestone slab with a honed finish and an unusually quiet face. Its tone stays light. For a modern kitchen or bathroom, this material gives residential countertops and broad wall sections a calm backdrop without introducing strong color shifts.

Design

Pale Gray with Faint Linear Marks

The photo shows an even silver gray ground with soft cloudy patches, tiny darker specks, and extremely faint lines crossing the slab diagonally. Contrast remains very low. A few wispy gray marks are visible near the edges, while the honed surface keeps the entire field matte and gently muted.

Low pattern density

Sparse marks leave most of the pale gray field open and consistent.

Softly honed

The matte finish supports the limestone's even, powdery appearance.

Where to use it

Light Gray for Broad Surfaces

On residential countertops, Britannia keeps the material palette restrained and allows nearby fixtures or cabinetry to carry more of the contrast. Shower walls can feel open. The slab's quiet field also works across residential interior walls, where minimal veining avoids competing with other kitchen or bathroom details.

Calm counters

The light gray ground reads as one continuous field across larger cuts.

Subtle wall coverage

Faint diagonal marks add movement without forming a dominant pattern.

Why we chose it

A restrained gray optionBritannia offers less contrast than strongly veined stone, making it useful for plans built around quiet, related tones.
A slim listed profileThe slab is supplied at 3/4 inch thick in random dimensions for a fabricator to measure and plan.
Real pieces shown onlineThe batches currently available appear on this page with an image of each slab, and selections change as pieces sell.

Questions we get

Does the honed finish have any shine?

It is smooth and matte rather than mirrorlike. The finish keeps the pale gray field soft and reduces reflections across the slab.

How much variation should I expect?

Limestone is natural, so every slab has its own faint marks, specks, and tonal shifts. Slabs within one block's batch provide the closest overall match.

How will the selected slab reach my fabricator?

Delivery uses an A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse holding it. Beyond that distance, the slab travels by crated LTL freight. Job-site delivery is not offered.
