Calatorao in a Soft Silk Finish
Calatorao is a black sintered stone slab made by pressing and firing minerals. The look is deep and grounded. Its 126x63 rectangular format and 3/4 thickness give a fabricator a substantial surface for kitchen or bathroom work where a dark, modern field is wanted.
Design
Dark Clouds Across Calatorao
The ground reads as charcoal black with broad brown and smoky gray clouds moving mostly from side to side. The pattern is dense but low contrast, with scattered granular patches and soft transitions rather than sharp veins. It stays quietly varied. The Silk finish keeps reflections controlled, allowing the shadowy layers to remain visible without turning the face glossy.
Smoky movement
Wide charcoal and brown formations drift horizontally across the dark ground.
Low sheen
The Silk finish gives the face a restrained, gently reflective surface.
Where to use it
A Dark Anchor for Kitchen and Bath
For a kitchen, this slab can form a strong residential countertop against pale cabinetry or continue onto residential interior walls. It also works on bathroom shower walls. The format is generous. Because the pattern repeats closely from slab to slab, adjoining pieces can maintain a related dark field while the fabricator plans cuts around the broad clouded areas.
