How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Layla Polished in a Slim Format

Layla is a polished sintered stone slab with a black and dark gray field crossed by broad, mineral-like movement. The face has real depth. Made by pressing and firing minerals, this Neolith surface carries its pattern through the body and repeats closely across a production run.

Design

Polished Depth Across Dark Gray

Through the center, a dense diagonal band of fragmented charcoal markings divides larger smoky gray fields, with thin white lines appearing near its edges. The contrast is restrained. Blocky shapes gather toward the upper right, while finer crystalline marks fill the left and center, and polishing deepens every dark layer with mirror-like reflection.

Diagonal central movement

A wide, textured-looking band runs across the face and gives the composition a clear direction.

Fine pale accents

Small white lines and flecks break through the black and gray pattern without dominating it.

Slim Layla for Walls and Counters

At 1/4 inch thick, this slab offers a slim format for a fabricator to assess against the requirements of the planned installation. Its scale remains bold. Layla suits residential countertops, shower walls, and residential interior walls in a kitchen, bathroom, or living room.

What does polishing do to Layla?

The polished finish creates a mirror shine and deepens the black and gray pattern, making its diagonal movement more pronounced.

Does the pattern vary greatly between slabs?

No. Neolith is manufactured, and its pattern repeats closely within one production run rather than varying like natural stone.

Who cuts and installs the slab?

A licensed fabricator receives the slab, then templates, cuts, and installs it. Stone Tile Depot does not deliver slabs directly to the job site.
