How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Quartzite · Slab

Maldive is a polished quartzite slab that arrives in random sizes. The stone reads in a gray tone with a mirror shine that deepens its natural color. Each slab is a single piece of stone cut from one block, so the size and the markings differ from one to the next. We sell these slabs by quote rather than by the box or the square foot. Pricing comes after you select the specific slabs for your project.

Design

Gray tones and polished finish

The gray background carries subtle veining that shifts with the light. A polished finish reflects the room and sharpens the stone's texture. The veining size and density vary between slabs, even within the same batch. One slab might hold tight lines while another opens into broader strokes. The finish reads bright in overhead light but shows wear sooner than a honed surface.

Random slab sizes

Each slab is a single piece of stone with its own dimensions and natural markings.

Polished depth

The mirror shine deepens the gray color and brings out the veining structure.

Where to use it

This stone suits commercial interior walls, residential interior walls and residential countertops. A licensed fabricator templates and installs the slab after it arrives from the warehouse. We hold one batch of Maldive in stock at our Carlstadt, NJ warehouse. Two slabs measure 74 by 126 inches and sit in that same batch. Slabs from one batch match most closely because they come from the same block.

Fabricator installation

Why we chose it

Batch consistencyThe single batch in stock means the two available slabs share the closest veining and color match.
Size flexibilityThe 74 by 126 inch size covers about 64.75 square feet per slab, fitting large wall panels and countertops.
Polished readThe mirror finish sharpens the gray tones and reveals the natural veining structure clearly.

Care

Seal the stone in kitchens and wet rooms to resist etching. Wipe spills promptly to protect the polished surface. Use a pH-neutral cleaner for routine maintenance.
