Mod Slate Charcoal presents a 12x24 matte porcelain tile in a deep charcoal slate look with straight-cut edges. Its black color family gives the layered stone pattern a darker foundation, while the matte surface prevents glare from obscuring the variation. The Mod Slate range carries this charcoal treatment into matching mosaic and trim pieces.
The long rectangular format draws the eye across larger expanses and gives the dark surface an orderly scale. V3 shade variation creates noticeable shifts among individual tiles, keeping the charcoal field from appearing flat. Rated applications cover residential and commercial interior walls and floors, including shower walls and backsplashes, across bathrooms, kitchens, and living rooms. Its IW class addresses level indoor flooring exposed to water.
Water absorption does not exceed 0.5%, making the body impervious porcelain that takes in almost no water. At least 325 pounds of breaking strength places it above ANSI's 250-pound floor-tile requirement. The Mohs 7 hardness resists scratching caused by grit and sand, and Class III abrasion resistance is suitable for floors in all residential rooms. Class A chemical resistance is accompanied by wet DCOF of 0.42 or greater, meeting the standard for level wet interior floors. The material resists frost and thermal shock as well.
Sold by the box with the displayed price calculated per square foot, 8 pieces provide 15.49 square feet of coverage. Each box weighs 60 pounds. Charcoal coordinates with a 2x2 mosaic and 4x12 bullnose, while Beige and Gray are the other matte 12x24 colors.
