Mondial, a blue square
Mondial is a 6x6 blue ceramic accent tile finished in leather. It shares its size and surface with the Medallion square in the same colour, and differs in the design recorded against it. Pieces sell individually at 0.25 square feet.
Design
One colour, textured
Leather finishes hold light rather than reflect it, which keeps a saturated blue from looking lacquered. Style is logged as rustic. Bodies measure 3/8 inch, matching the other squares in this colour, so two designs can sit in the same run without a step at the joint. Ceramic tiles in strong colours usually go further as an inset or a band than as a whole wall. Two designs in one colour also give a wall somewhere to change without changing palette, which is useful over a run of any length.

Held light
A leathered face keeps the blue matte rather than glassy.
Where to use it
Shower walls
Shower walls is the usage on file, with kitchen recorded as the room. Wet areas need their waterproofing handled behind the tile; the tile itself is the finish over that. Counting is straightforward at a quarter square foot a piece, and ceramic cuts on a hand cutter for most trims around a niche or a valve. Buying by the piece means the order can follow a drawn panel exactly rather than rounding up to a box.

Care
A household tile cleaner keeps the glaze clear. In a shower, drying the wall down occasionally slows the build up of soap film, which shows sooner on a matte finish than on a gloss.
