How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Retrostone Neolith with a Fine Terrazzo Look

Retrostone is a Neolith sintered stone slab made by pressing and firing minerals. Its Silk finish has a gentle, controlled sheen. The pale field and scattered fragments give kitchen and bathroom projects the look of fine terrazzo in a manufactured surface.

Design

Pale Chips Across a Warm Gray Field

A light gray-beige ground carries a dense spread of cream, white and soft gray chips. A few fragments show faint peach and tan color. The pieces vary from tiny flecks to larger rounded and angular shapes, yet their even distribution keeps the slab from developing one dominant direction.

Evenly spread pattern

The chip field remains active from edge to edge, with no single vein or large feature controlling the layout.

Silk finish

The surface has a restrained sheen that sits between a flat matte face and a highly reflective polish.

Flexible Coverage in a Thin Format

At 126x59 inches and 1/4 inch thick, this rectangular format suits broad residential interior walls and shower walls. It can do more. Residential countertops and residential light floors can carry the same small-scale pattern through a kitchen, bathroom or living room without introducing a strong directional line.

Silk describes a smooth face with a soft sheen. It reflects less sharply than a polished surface while retaining a finished, even appearance.

Do Retrostone slabs vary like natural stone?

No. A batch is one production run, and the through-body pattern repeats closely from slab to slab. Current production choices are shown on this page.

Where are the slabs sent after purchase?

They go to a licensed fabricator for templating, cutting and installation. Delivery uses an A-frame truck within 50 miles and crated LTL freight beyond that range.
