How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Sandy Blue Granite with Mixed Surface Character

Sandy Blue is a granite slab with a dark blue-gray body and a Honed&Polished finish. Broad cloudy areas and pale mineral breaks move through the face. Granite brings strong scratch and heat resistance compared with marble, which suits residential countertops in working kitchens and bathrooms.

Design

Stormy Blue Gray with White Breaks

In the pictured slab, deep navy, charcoal and smoky blue areas blend into a mottled ground rather than a regular speckle. Scattered white veins appear in short, broken runs. Some form brighter clouds near the upper center and lower edge. The movement is loose. Faint gray lines and darker patches fill the open areas between those pale features.

Mixed finish

Honed&Polished treatment creates shifts in reflection across the face, adding another layer to the irregular blue-gray pattern.

Slight variation

Color varies slightly between pieces, while each natural slab retains its own white breaks, clouds and dark fields.

Where to use it

Moody Granite for Counters and Walls

On a residential countertop, Sandy Blue reads dark and substantial without becoming uniform black. The pale marks add contrast. For shower walls or residential interior walls, the scattered clouds can be positioned as isolated highlights, giving a bathroom or kitchen a broad blue-gray field with natural interruptions.

Countertop durability

Granite resists scratches and heat better than marble, a useful quality for residential countertop planning.

Wall composition

The brightest white clouds are separated across the slab, letting a fabricator plan where each focal mark will appear.
