Product Description
Chamonix Dark Gray is a 24x48 porcelain tile with a stone look in a matte finish, 8.5 mm (5/16 inch) thick.
Chamonix looks like a mountain stone packed with small fragments of other stones. It is a colored body, rectified porcelain in Bianco, Beige, Gray and Dark Gray, with a multi-size Muretto brick wall tile, mosaics and bullnose to match.
At 24x48 this is a large format, so a room needs fewer pieces and shows fewer grout lines. Large tiles want a flat, well-prepared substrate.
In matte, the porcelain tile reads soft and natural under any light and keeps smudges from showing. The color runs through the body of the tile, so a chip shows the same tone instead of a light clay base. Shade variation is moderate: tone and pattern change from piece to piece, as in natural material. Del Conca rates the face at 0.42 DCOF wet or better, which meets the ANSI A326.3 minimum for level interior floors that get wet.
The edges are rectified, cut square after firing, so the tile can be set with a narrow grout joint. Each box holds 2 pieces, 15.5 sq ft, about 61 lb, and orders round up to full boxes.
