How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Rust Depth in a Satin Slab

Iron Corten is a Neolith sintered stone slab with the warm, weathered look of dark rusted metal. It feels grounded and direct. The manufactured surface is pressed and fired from minerals, with a through-body pattern that repeats closely across slabs.

Design

Iron Corten in Satin

Across the face, a deep brown ground carries dense black and charcoal speckling, plus broad clouds of copper and reddish brown. The pattern has little directional movement. It reads as mottled and layered instead, with darker areas gathering near the center and lower edge while the satin finish adds a soft sheen. Nothing looks sharply veined.

Rust brown ground

Copper, umber, and dark brown tones create the look of aged iron.

Fine dark texture

Dense charcoal specks break up the broad, cloudy patches.

Where to use it

Strong Color for Working Surfaces

For kitchens, this slab gives residential countertops a deep brown surface that can anchor pale cabinets or nearby walls. It makes a firm statement. In bathrooms, the same mottled field works across shower walls, while residential interior walls can carry the color into a living room without introducing a strong vein direction.

What does the Satin finish look like?

Satin sits between a flat appearance and a high shine. Its soft sheen lets the rust-colored clouds and fine dark speckling remain easy to see without a strong reflection.

How do production runs work for this material?

A batch is one production run. The through-body pattern repeats closely between slabs, and the batches currently available are shown on this page with a photo of each slab.

Where is the slab delivered?

It goes to a licensed fabricator, not the job site. Delivery uses an A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse holding it and crated LTL freight beyond that distance.
