Mod Slate Charcoal appears here as a 4x12 matte porcelain bullnose trim piece with a dark slate look. Its charcoal surface belongs to the black color family and echoes the layered character of the Mod Slate field tile and mosaic, with Beige and Gray completing the line.
The 4x12 format creates an extended finishing line along exposed tile edges and outer boundaries. Its bullnose profile softens the visible edge, while the straight-cut sides maintain a clean rectangular run. The matte finish reduces shine against the deep charcoal coloring. V3 shade variation allows conspicuous tonal shifts among pieces, so a finished border shares the varied stone appearance of the coordinating surfaces.
Water absorption is limited to 0.5% or less, the ANSI definition of impervious porcelain, so the trim takes up almost no water. Its breaking strength is at least 325 pounds, above the 250-pound ANSI floor-tile minimum. Mohs hardness of 7 indicates resistance to scratching from grit and sand, and the abrasion rating is Class III. Chemical resistance is Class A. Resistance to frost and thermal shock rounds out the available performance characteristics.
The trim is sold as individual pieces. Each 18-pound box contains 15 pieces. Coordinating Charcoal formats include the 12x24 tile and 2x2 mosaic, and the 4x12 bullnose is also produced in Beige matte and Gray matte.
