How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Sandalus Dark Quartzite with Linear Texture

Sandalus Dark is a quartzite slab with a leather finish and a nearly black, strongly directional pattern. Long pale forms cross the face in diagonal rows. The low sheen suits residential countertops where deep color and visible texture are wanted without a polished reflection.

Design

Charcoal Bands with Pale Mineral Ribbons

Across the slab, charcoal and soft black layers sweep diagonally from upper left toward lower right. Elongated cream, gray and muted gold shapes repeat within those bands like broken ribbons. Fine dark lines run in the same direction. The pattern is dense. Small wispy marks and a few subtle gray fractures add detail between the larger pale formations.

Leathered depth

Brushed texture and low sheen strengthen the layered look while helping conceal fingerprints and water spots.

Clear directional flow

The repeated diagonal ribbons give the fabricator a strong grain direction to consider during countertop layout.

Where to use it

Dark Countertops with a Long Grain

In a kitchen, this 1 1/4 inch quartzite can create a grounded residential countertop with clear movement from end to end. Bathroom counters also fit. Because the pattern has a strong diagonal pull, slab selection and template placement matter when adjoining sections need to read as one planned composition.

Kitchen contrast

The dark field can set off lighter surrounding finishes while the cream ribbons keep the countertop from reading as flat black.

No. It has a low sheen and brushed feel rather than a mirror polish, keeping the charcoal body dark and softly reflective.

A batch contains slabs cut from one block, so their color and movement match most closely even though each face remains individual.
