How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Quartzite · Slab

The slabs in stock measure 1 1/4 inches thick and come in random sizes. Soyeux Noir is a black quartzite with a honed finish. The stone arrives as full slabs. Pricing is by quote. Slabs go to a licensed fabricator who templates and installs them.

Design

Black stone with honed finish

The surface reads matte under light. Black tones carry grey veining that shifts from slab to slab. Each piece holds its own markings and size. Variation between slabs is expected. The honed face hides scratches and etching better than a polished cut. A honed finish is ground smooth but left matte.

Care

Quartzite resists etching far better than marble but should still be sealed in kitchens and wet rooms. Stone Tile Depot ships from its own US warehouses. Samples of most tiles can be ordered from the product page.
