The Calacatta look without marble
Calacatta porcelain slabs reproduce the bold veining of Calacatta marble on a fired porcelain sheet. Dolcissima Calacatta Super White is a bright white with gray veins, Calacatta Oro and Plane 2.0 Calacatta Oro add gold toned veining, and Calacatta Antique has a warmer, aged white. Calacatta Black turns the look around, with white veins on black, and Calacatta Paonazzo carries a richer, more colored vein.
Why choose porcelain
Porcelain does not etch from lemon or wine, takes almost no water and holds up to heat and daily kitchen use. It also gives a more predictable look than marble: the pattern is designed, so it can be matched across a long counter or a full wall. The A and B versions of a design alternate vein layouts so the repeat is less visible.
Finish and size
Calacatta porcelain slabs come polished, for a glossy marble look, or natural, a matte face closer to honed stone. Most are about 1/2 inch thick, cut for countertops, islands and walls. The size is fixed by the maker and listed in the title.
