Burdur Beige marble coffee table
This coffee table is made from Burdur Beige marble, quarried in the Burdur region of Turkey. The top measures 40 by 40 inches and the table stands 14 inches high, with a polished finish and eased edges. It sits on wooden legs in a choice of walnut or dark walnut. At this size it becomes a substantial centerpiece for a sectional or a conversation area, without feeling overwhelming.
Design
Warm beige with mild veining
Burdur Beige is valued for its warm beige tones, fairly uniform texture and subtle, soft veining. The palette runs from cream to beige. Because the stone does not compete for attention the way heavily veined marbles do, it settles into modern, transitional and traditional rooms and does not need coordinated decor around it. The polished finish gives the marble a slight sheen and brings depth to the surface, and the stone may show small to medium grains. It is cool to the touch, which adds to its feel in a lived-in room. The top is a 3/4 inch thick slab with eased edges, softened so the corners are comfortable around a busy seating area.

Where to use it
Centerpiece for a seating group
With a 40 by 40 inch top, the table is generous enough to anchor an L-shaped sectional or a group of sofas and chairs. The two leg finishes let the table either blend with lighter wood floors in walnut or add contrast in dark walnut.

Delivery and setup
Setting the table in place
A solid marble top of this size is heavy, so plan for two or more people on delivery day. Place the table on a level floor so the legs bear evenly and the top does not rock. Felt pads under the wooden legs protect wood and tile floors. Lift the table into position rather than sliding it, which protects both the legs and the floor.

Care
Burdur Beige is a calcite marble with a polished surface. Like all marble it is porous, so acidic spills can etch the polish and pigments can stain it if left to sit. Sealing gives the surface time before a spill soaks in, and how often it is resealed depends on use. Over the years marble develops a patina, and small marks become part of its character.
